Every year, at the end of summer, the cows are taken from the alp to the valley. The celebration begins at 10 am with the entry of the band and a concert on the square. In addition to various delicacies, insights into traditional crafts such as quill embroidery, hat making, etc. are also offered.

From 12 o'clock the colourfully decorated cows move through the village. A wide variety of musicians such as alphorn players and folk music groups provide entertainment.

Mountain and Hiking World Alpbachtal Lakeland

Alpbach-hiking: The location between the lovely grassy mountains of the Kitzbühel Alps and the rugged Rofan Mountains forms a contrasting hiking backdrop in the Alpbachtal Seenland region. The Rofan Mountains with peaks such as Sonnwendjoch & Sagzahn impress with its rich fauna and flora.

Lake Zirein is considered the "Blue Eye of the Rofan" and is one of the most photographed mountain lakes in Tyrol. The Alpbach valley with its rustic alpine pastures is a hiking area for eyes and palate.

Pure refreshment while hiking: Tyrol's warmest bathing lakes as well as three nature experience gorges. A hiking paradise with more than 900 km of marked hiking and walking trails (Austrian Hiking Quality Seal)!

The Alpbach Valley Lakeland has been awarded the Austrian Hiking Quality Seal!

Lake Reither See

The Lake Reither See, also known as the "Blaue Auge Reith", is located directly in the centre of the village. After various activities such as hiking, trekking or walks, the lake is the ideal refreshment. In addition to a large sunbathing lawn, there is a children's play area, paddling pool, diving board, changing rooms, a fishing area and much more.

The maximum depth of the lake is 7.7 m and it is 1.45 ha.

BIKing / Cycling

Over 20 official mountain bike tours, five road bike tours (asphalted), the Inn cycle path and Zillertal cycle path as well as two stages of the BIKE TRAIL TIROL can be found in the Alpbachtal Lake District.

The region can no longer be described as a mountain bike secret tip, after all the Transalp Challenge has already made four stops here. Nevertheless, it would be presumptuous to claim that the region is overpopulated by bikers.

So somehow an insider tip after all! Besides the numerous bike tours in the Kitzbühel and Zillertal Alps as well as in the Rofan Mountains / Brandenberg Alps, you also have great opportunities with your family to "pedal" the best excursion destinations in the region on designated cycle paths.
